House for Sister & Brother

Oslo, Norway

2012

Two nearly identical, low-energy solid-timber houses, are erected side by side and share a common back garden with an existing house. The overall aim of this projects is to provide the best response for the accommodation of three families' lives, their wishes and needs at a common site.

The compact building volumes are performed in solid timber without any glue, screws or nails. (Rombach Nur-Holz). It is a diffusion open construction and with overall focus on environmentally friendly materials. A combination of geothermal heat pump, balanced ventilation and high percent heat recovery is responsible for the heating and a low energy consumption.
