Artistic intervention in public space
Client: Oslo National Academy of the Arts

The Oslo National Academy of the Arts appears to be a process -oriented institution rather than a presentational one. We aimed to strengthen the main hall’s existing qualities rather than introducing new ones. The students’ wardrobe spaces are two large boxes that extend three floors up from the main hall.

Our proposal suggests accentuate those spaces by covering the suspended boxes with 300 sqm printed acrylic plates. The motives are taken within the industrial complex before renovation and emphasize the unfinished expression, the process, introducing layers of shadows, light, reflections and construction details.
